Premanand Ji Maharaj Biography
Premanand Ji Maharaj was born in 1972 into a pious and religious Brahmin (Pandey) family in Akhri village, Sarsaul block, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, in a Brahmin family. Premanand's childhood name was Aniruddha Kumar Pandey.
His father’s name was Shri Shambhu Pandey and his mother’s name was shrimati Rama devi. Premanand ji's grandfather was the first to resign. In addition, his father was also devout and his elder brother read the Bhagavad Gita daily.
Premanand ji had an atmosphere of devotion in his family and it influenced his life. Premanand ji Maharaj says that, when he was in the 5th class, he started reading the Gita and thus gradually his interest in spirituality began to grow.
With that, he also began to learn spiritual knowledge. At the age of 13, he decided to become a brahmachari and thereafter left home and became a sanyasi. Early in his Sanyasi life, Premanand ji Maharaj came to be known as Arya Brahmachari.
The monk was hungry for many days of his life
Premanand ji Maharaj left his home to become a monk and came to Varanasi and started living here. In the daily life of his life, he takes a bath in the Ganges three times a day and meditates and worships Lord Shiva and Mother Ganges at Tulsi Ghat. He eat only once a day.
Premanand Ji Maharaj would sit for 10-15 minutes begging for food. If there was food available at that time, he would eat, otherwise he would drink only Ganga water. Premanand Ji Maharaj spent many days in hunger during the normal life of his life.
Miraculous story of Premanand ji Maharaj reaching Vrindavan
The story of Premanand Maharaj Ji coming to Vrindavan as a monk is very miraculous. One day an anonymous saint approached Premanandji Maharaj and said that Shri Ram Sharma has organized Shri Chaitanya Leela in the afternoon and Ras Leela Manch in the night at Shri Hanuman Dham University, to which you are invited.
At first Maharaj Ji refused to let the unknown monk come. But the saint strongly insisted on participating in the function, after which Maharaj Ji accepted the invitation.
When Premanand Ji Maharaj went to see Chaitanya Leela and Ras Leela, he was impressed by the event. This process lasted about a month and ended after that.
After the completion of Chaitanya Leela and Ras Leela, Premanandji Maharaj began to worry how to see Ras Leela. Thereafter, Maharaj Ji went to the same sadhu who had come to invite him. When Maharaj Ji met him, he said, take me along, so that I can watch Ras Leela. So that I can serve you.
The saint said that you should come to Vrindavan, there you will have darshan of Ras Leela every day. Hearing these words of the saint, the Maharaja wished to come to Vrindavan and was inspired to do so.
Thereafter, Maharaj Ji came to Vrindavan at the feet of Radharani and Shri Krishna and began to attain God. Thereafter, Maharaj Ji came to the path of devotion. After coming to Vrindavan he also joined the company of Radhavallabha.
